Hartford, Connecticut’s capital is also known as the Insurance Capital of the World. At one point the city was home to more major insurance carriers than any other city and insurance is still the main industry

At close to 400 years old Hartford is one of the country’s oldest cities. It is home to the Wadsworth Athenium, the oldest art museum in the country. Literature lovers love Hartford as it is home of the Mark Twain house, which was once the residence of Samuel Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain. The home is now a museum. The author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, also lived in Hartford and her home the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and Research Center is also a museum.

Hartford nightlife features something for everyone. There are plenty of sports and neighborhood bars and dance clubs featuring everything from the top twenty to hip-hop. There are also jazz clubs for your listening pleasure.
