Take in 350 years of history as you stroll down streets in a self guided tour and learn about the people and events that make New London unique.

You can enjoy the various museums, such as, the Custom House Maritime Museum which is the oldest, continuously operating custom house in America. It is also well known for being the place where the slave captives and the Amistad were taken by the United States Coast Guard, back in the 19th century. There is also the Shaw Perkins Mansion, an 18th century merchant's home, it was once used by the navy during the Revolutionary War.

New London is brimming with activity amongst the many restaurants and quaint Main Street shops. Lunch at the Dutch Tavern will take you back in time. It is a 200 year old pub that serves casual food.
