First Night is a family-friendly celebration that offers you two chances to see fireworks alongside a wide array of outdoor and indoor programming. Now in it’s 33rd year, First Night is a multicultural, artistically unique, alcohol-free New Years experience with countless professional musicians, artists, performance groups and exhibits that inspire thousands of people of all ages to attend each year. It’s also an affordable way for everyone to ring in the New Year.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Transformation”. The spectacle that we know First Night to be has undergone change throughout its 34 years. The times has forced us all to continue to adapt. This year we welcome you to transform with us at First Night 2023.
Hartfords New Year's celebration is back!. The day includes two spectacular fireworks shows in Bushnell Park at 6 PM and 12 AM Midnight viewed throughout the city by thousands of visitors and residents, multi-cultural activities, events, and performances.
